Reality TV star Jade Goody has died at the age of 27, her spokesman Max Clifford has confirmed. Her mother Jackiey Budden said: “My beautiful daughter is at peace.”
She had been treated at the Royal Marsden Hospital in west London but wanted “to spend all the time she had got left” with new husband Jack Tweed and sons, Bobby (5), and Freddy (4). The star died at home at 0314 GMT on Mother’s Day, with Ms Budden and Tweed at her side. Her body was taken out of her home shortly before 0800 GMT.
Jade Goody got fame after contesting in third series of Big Brother. She was later accused of being racist towards Indian actress Shilpa Shetty during a celebrity version of the show. She also appeared in Bigboss program in India and attracted Indians with her innocent and childish behaviour in the show, but she had to leave the show in the middle due to her illness.
She was open about wanting to exploit media interest in her battle with cancer to raise public awareness of the disease and prevent other women from suffering her fate.
