New Delhi: In the biggest attack since Dantewada massacre, the Maoists struck again and triggered landmine blast killing 40 people and injuring several others at Dantewada in Chhattisgarh.
The bus was on its way from Sukma to Dantewada when Maoists used IED explosives and killed 40 people. The blast happened at 5:00 pm. The driver of the bus was a civilian.
30 civilians and 20 Special Police Officers (SPOs) were onboard the bus. The attack happened 50 kms from Dantewada.
The SPOs, who are civilians assisting police in fighting the Naxals, were attached to Dantewada police, officials said.
The IED was planted on a metalled road and detonated by the Left-Wing Extremists using remote control device.
This is the third big attack in Dantewada in last one month.”No CRPF jawans were travelling in the bus,” Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) said.
