Jaipur: In a major embarrassment to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the Rajasthan police have chargesheeted one of its leaders in connection with the 2007 Ajmer blasts case, reports said.
According to reports, the chargesheet indicts RSS leader Indresh Kumar, claiming he led a meeting to hatch the Ajmer blast conspiracy on October 31, 2005 in Jaipur.
The meeting, held at the Gujarati Samaj guest house on Jaipur’s MI Road, was attended by many RSS leaders.
According to the 806-page chargesheet, specific roles were assigned to those present at the meeting to plant bombs in Ajmer and other cities.
Kumar has termed the development as a political conspiracy against him, saying he will take the battle to court.
The probe agency is being used against me, he added.
The chargesheet goes on to say that the main accused Sunil Joshi, Pragya Singh Thakur, the prime accused of the Malegaon blast, and four others had checked into the guest house under fake names.
The chargesheet names six accused, 133 witnesses and contains 213 support documents. Prime accused Joshi is already dead, while three others are in judicial custody and two others are absconding.
