AP minister enters into altercation with journalist

Guntur: Andhra Pradesh Handlooms Minister P Shankar Rao lost his cool at a press conference here today and called a journalist unfit for his job, after which the latter said that he was not fit to be a minister.

It all began when the reporter, working with a television channel, asked the minister as to why he cricitised Warangal MLA Konda Surekha, a supporter of Jaganmohan Reddy, for lashing out at Congress president Sonia Gandhi, when he preferred not to react when a senior party leader raised question marks on Gandhi”s nationality and called her misfit to be an Indian leader.

Not satisfied with Rao”s response, the journalist continued asking the minister counter-questions, thereby annoying him following which Rao said the reporter was misfit to be in journalism.

The reporter retaliated by saying, “You are not fit for a minister job.”

Rao left the press conference abprutly after the altercation.
