Cameras at Corbett to keep a close watch on tigers

Nainital: To keep a close watch on the movement of tigers in the Corbett National Park, the Wildlife Institute of India is installing 110 cameras in the reserve.

An area of 275 sq kms has been identified in the reserve forest of the park for this purpose, park officials said.

A team of experts from WII has initiated the task of mounting the cameras at suitable locations after careful identification.

The work will continue till October this year and would help in monitoring the movement of tigers.

The Corbett National Park enjoys the status of being the best home for tigers in India.
