Cocaine worth Rs 4 cr seized in Pune

Pune: Customs officials have seized 870 gram of cocaine, worth Rs four crore in the international market, from a Nigerian national here.

The 27-year-old Nigerian national, who was allegedly involved in sending cocaine to Canada, Australia and Indonesia, has been arrested, P Sekar, Commissioner of Customs, Pune, said.

The seizure was effected last week after a courier service tipped off officials of the custom’s narcotic cell about the suspicious consignments booked by the accused who was residing in Delhi.

The drug, with an estimated value of Rs one crore in the Indian market, was found to be concealed in plastic casing of measuring tapes and paper lanterns.
