New Delhi: The Gujarat riots seems to be catching up with CM Narendra Modi as Special Investigation Team (SIT) has issued summons to him in former Congress MP Ehsan Jaffrey’s murder case.
The SIT headed by former Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Director R. K. Raghavan is to submit its report to the Supreme Court by April.
R K Raghvan said, “Yes, summons have been issued against Narendra Modi in Ehsan Jaffrey’s murder case.”
Gujarat CM Narendra Modi has been asked to appear before the SIT on March 21. SIT has collected some ‘valuable evidence’ against Mr Modi.
The former Congress MP Ehsan Jaffrey was murdered in Gulbarg Society during the Gujarat riots of 2002. Ehsan Jaffrey’s wife has filed a 100-page document alleging conspiracy. The probe against Gujarat CM started following the plea by the late MP’s wife.
