Ghaziabad: Fourteen kilogram of gold rods worth Rs 1.25 crore were seized and four persons were arrested in the connection at a railway station here, police said today.
14 kg of gold rods were recovered from the possession of four persons belonging to a courier company late last evening by constable Vinod Kumar Gautam of Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Raj Kumar of Government Railway Police (GRP).
The accused were on their way to Saharanpur from Noida when Gautam and Kumar forced them to pass through the metal detectors, they said.
The gold rods were found in two aluminium boxes during checking, they said.
A case has been registered and the gold manufacturing company has been informed about the incident, police said.
Railway officials said the constables will be awarded for their work.
