Kadapa: A day after resigning from the Congress party, Jagan Reddy is visiting the YSR family stronghold Kadapa on Tuesday.
Jagan Mohan Reddy and his mother Y S Vijayalakshmi are in Kadapa for a memorial service in honour of late YSR Reddy.
Jagan Mohan Reddy resigned on Monday as Congress MP after months of defiance, accusing the party of trying to split his family and usurp his father, YSR’s legacy.
Jagan had faxed a 5-page letter to Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, expressing his angst over the way the party hijacked his father’s memory.
Jagan’s uncle Vivekananda Reddy said that the high command is not trying to create any fissures between the YSR family.
“The decision to go to Delhi and meet Sonia Gandhi to discuss a possible ministerial berth was completely my decision, not the party’s,” he said.
