JK govt launches free hospital services on R-Day

Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Government today launched ‘Maa Tuje Salaam’ free hospital services for pregnant women and children, in Doda district of the state.

“For improving the health care services in each and every part of the state, we announce a new scheme for pregnant women and children called “Maa Tuje Salaam” which provides free hospital services to all pregnant women and children upto the age of 5 years,” Minister for Health Sham Lal Sharma said at a Republic Day function in Doda district today.

Under the scheme, no user charges will be taken from the pregnant women and children up to 5 years of age in government health care institutions providing primary and secondary healthcare, such as sub-centres, PHC’s, CHC’s and District Hospitals, he said.

The minister said that upto 2 lakh pregnant women and 22 lakh children will be benefited every year by the scheme.
