Maoists loot cash, jewellery

Rourkela: Maoist ultras allegedly looted Rs four lakh in cash, gold ornaments and four mobile phones from the house of a transporter at Gonua village under Koida police station in Sundargarh district, 120 km from here, police said today.

The Maoists forcibly entered the house of the businessman Kulamani Patra and threatened all family members at gun point before the loot, they said.

Patra told police that the ultras had demanded an extortion money of Rs five lakh 15 days back. The looters left some Maoist posters before fleeing, Patra said.
