New Delhi: The Union Budget 2011-12 presented by Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherje in Parliament on Monday got a mixed response from the opposition parties including the Left, which termed it as the ‘most insensitive budget’ in the history.
Shortly after the Finance Minister concluded his Budget presentation, CPI(M) leader Nilotpal Basu said, “This budget has utterly disappointed. This will go down as the most insensitive budget in the history of Indian democracy. The interest of the common man has not been taken care of in this Budget.”
Rubbishing Finance Minister’s claim of putting extra thrust on reforms in the next fiscal by the slew of measures aimed at taming inflation, Basu lamented, “This budget has done nothing for the aam adami (common man).”
