Dehradun: If sources are to be believed, Team India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is all set to get married to his school-time friend Sakshi Singh Rawat at a hotel in Dehradun later today.
Vishranti resort, where the wedding ceremony will take place at 7 PM in the evening has been turned into a fortress with security personnel deployed all around the hotel.
The wedding will be attended by India cricketers Ashish Nehra, Harbhajan Singh and RP Singh and Bollywood actor John Abraham.
Board of Control for Cricket in India president Shashank Manohar and secretary N Srinivasan are also reportedly in Dehradun for the wedding.
Earlier, on Saturday, Dhoni got engaged to Sakshi.
“Dhoni and his school friend Sakshi got engaged at hotel Bhagirath in Dehradun,” a close family friend told reporters here.
“Besides, the family members of Dhoni, a few close friends of the cricketer were present during the engagement ceremony,” he added.
29-year-old Dhoni and Rawat had been school friends at DAV, Shamily in Ranchi.
“Their fathers worked together in MECON, and the Rawats moved to Dehradun after retirement,” the friend said.
Asked whether any date for marriage has been fixed, he said, “Not yet, maybe after the Australian series.”
