No one forced to attend IPL Parties : Muttiah Muralitharan

New Delhi: Sri Lankan off-spinner and Chennai Super Kings player Muttiah Muralitharan on Wednesday slammed Mahendra Singh Dhoni for blaming IPL parties for Team India’s disastrous performance in the Twenty 20 World Cup in West Indies.

Murali said, “I can’t speak about other teams but as far as Chennai Super Kings is concerned, most of the players didn’t even go for the parties.”

“In a T20 game anything can happen. Nobody forced any player to attend the party.”

He further added that parties do not affect performance in the match.

Soon after India’s ouster from the T20 World Cup, Dhoni said that IPL parties have taken a toll on their bodies and players need to respect their bodies.

“Most of the players were fit and fresh. Players also need to be smart, not only about cricket but about other things going around in the IPL. We have to respect our bodies because there is much more to it than playing matches. Attending parties and travelling took a toll,” Dhoni said.
