No runner for Laxman in Bangalore: Ponting

New Delhi: Australian captain Ricky Ponting has made it very clear that ‘Very Very Special’ Laxman, who has been suffering from a sore back pain, will not be given a runner if he plays the second and final Test match in Bangalore on Saturday.

The hero of Mohali’s match, V V S Laxman who batted with a runner, is a doubtful starter due to back spasms as he has not practiced for two days now.

Laxman had battled severe back pain to single-handedly take India to a memorable victory over Australia with a gritty unbeaten 73 in a nail-biting first cricket Test in Mohali.
