World Chess C’ship: Anand going strong

Sofia (Bulgaria): Securing a draw in the seventh game of the ongoing World Chess Championship, Indian chess champion Viswanathan Anand continues to lead with a score of 4-3 in the 12-match tournament.

Veselin Topalov gave Anand quiet a struggle before the Indian ace could manage to settle at a draw.

Topalov’s well strategised manouvres made the seventh match the tougest tie that Anand had to face so far in the World Championship.

After 58 moves, the match was declared a draw.

Anand had already faced Bulgaria’s Topalov in the fourth match of the tournament, which he won.
